2008 Parent Letter

Welcome to Show Low AYSO Region 470 for the 2008 season. We are looking forward to a fun new season and trust it will be one of the best yet!

We would like to let you know that we now have our own website: www.AYSO470.org. There will be schedules, and upcoming events posted on it to keep you informed of what is going on within our region.

Please mark your calendars for Opening Day to be held on August 9th, 10:00 a.m. at the Frontier Fields (behind National Bank). Please have your player at the field by 9:45 a.m. we will announce teams, hand out uniforms, and have a fundraising lunch provided by Papa John's Pizza. Games will be played on Opening Day (schedule will be provided).

For those interested in All-Star Tryouts, they will be held in September this year. They will be held Sept. 13th 2-4 p.m. and Sept. 17th 6-8 p.m. at the Frontier Fields. More information will follow, including a schedule of planned tournaments. Every effort will be made so that all the All-Star teams will attend at least three of the same tournaments.

Coaches - Please plan to attend a mandatory meeting on Saturday, July 12th at the City Gym from 9:00-10:00 a.m. You will receive your equipment and coaches book at this meeting. There will be a coaches clinic we will let you know more on this when the information becomes available. For more information on coaching please contact Jason Wilson at 369-8025. We are also in need of referees; if you are interested in this please contact Jason Hay at 242-5174.

Picture Day will be held for all teams on August 23rd at the City Gym by the Show Low Jr. High- please note that there will be games on picture day (your coach will have more information). Please plan to be there so the whole team can be in the picture.

Thank you Sponsors for partnering with the Show Low AYSO organization each year and for your generosity to help the youth of our community. If you are interested in sponsoring a team this season please contact our Sponsorship Coordinator Jodi Gaskill at 537-7739. Our sponsorship fee is $200 and includes your name on each player's shorts and on the coaches' shirts, along with a team sponsorship banner, a team thank you plaque, and a BIG thank you in the White Mountain Independent at the end of the season.

We are planning to have an AYSO soccer camp and when we have that information we will post it along with other camps in our area on our website.

Show Low AYSO is an all-volunteer organization. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact any of the board members listed in your parent handbook.

We would like to give a BIG Thank You to the Show Low Youth Recreation and Sports Foundation for there sponsorship and generous donation that helped to purchase new equipment that was needed for the upcoming year.
